Vinicius-inspired late show sees Madrid past Valladolid. Real Madrid started the match well and could have counted themselves unlucky to not be leading at the half-time interval. Bale and Benzema were unable to make the most of their opportunities ā a story which would continue well into the second half.
Real Valladolid looked the better, more efficient side after the restart, going close to scoring on a number of chances, including two shots ā one from Alcaraz and one from Villa ā which struck the crossbar.
In the end, Madrid grabbed the three points late, thanks to a very fortunate own goal when Viniciusā strike deflected off of Kikoās back. The lead was doubled two minutes before injury time when Ramos converted his penalty after Benzema was taken down in the area. Maybe not deserving of the points, but a result is all that matters for Solari!
